Many people think about metabolism when they fail to lose weight. Even in this case, we are talking about metabolic rate: fast is good, slow is bad. But this process is much more complicated and important than it might seem. Moreover, first of all, it must be characterized by quality, not speed.
How is metabolism
In general terms, metabolism is the physical and chemical processes that are needed to process food into the energy needed for normal life.
The process itself looks like this. All food consists of carbohydrates, fats, proteins, minerals, trace elements and vitamins. All these substances are broken down with the help of enzymes that are in the digestive system. Then they enter the circulatory system and from there they enter all the cells of the body. Cells open up, let in «sustenance» and then oxidize enzymes, after which they receive energy. It allows us to move, think, breathe, live, as the cells function in full. After the oxidation process is completed, decomposition products are formed. These are different types of salts, water, lactic acid and carbon dioxide. They are re-introduced into the blood, which delivers these decay products to the lungs, liver, and kidneys: the organs that make up the excretory system of the body. This is how all processes go if the metabolism is normal.
